URIC ACID is a metabolic end product following the digestion of purines found in most foods. As uric acid crystallizes in the joints, it procures needle-like formations that begin tearing into the synovial fluid sacks and cartilage. Subsequently, the body storms this assault with white blood cells. This process renders swollen, shiny red, hot painful joint(s) known as the intense inflammation of an acute gout attack. Excess uric acid can also cause pain in the joints without the accompanying 'attack'.
Our herbal blend proceeds directly to the root of most gout problems, uric acid production and crystallization. Seeking to unnaturally suppress uric acid production altogether, such as Allopurinol would, can yield potentially dangerous consequences. In order to deal with uric acid properly, you must first slow the production. This segment of uric acid control can easily be attained through a balanced diet, vitamins and minerals, and proper water intake. The complicated part is ensuring that it remain soluble in order for the body to dispose of any excess.
ATHRICARE can help enhance the body's ability to keep the uric acid from crystallizing, increases the removal from the blood stream to transport out of the body by way of the urinary disposal system, while also boosting the digestive system's ability to process the purines and dispose of the excess production, BEFORE the point of storage. This combination is fundamental to your success, and often the missing link for those who have dieted alone without success. Slowing the uric acid production, while a crucial component, is only half
of the battle. You must trigger the systems of the body to deal with this natural substance in a healthy manner. Our herbal blend provides this essential communication.
Uric Acid - Gout Stages
1) Uric Acid Crystals can take a long time (months or years) to accumulate, most commonly in connective tissues in and around joints, especially in the lower limbs. During this period there may well be no symptoms whatsoever. About 95% of people with hyperuricemia, high uric acid in the blood supply, will not have a gout attack throughout their entire lives. However, they may experience pain and discomfort from crystallized uric acid in their joints. Pain in the heel/achilles tendon is very common. Sometimes uric acid problems are even misdiagnosed as Rheumatoid Arthritis. The uric acid crystals will cut into the synovial fluid sacks that cushion all joints releasing this fluid into the blood. This can cause blood readings to indicate Rheumatoid Arthritis when, in fact, the problem is really uric acid crystals.
2) A single joint is almost always involved in the initial episodes of an acute attack, most commonly starting with the big toe. This involves local irritation and aching with the tissues becoming swollen, red, hot, shiny and excessively painful. The pain is frequently described as the worst ever experienced.
3) There are periods between attacks. Some never experience another attack, or perhaps at least not for several years. However, for the majority, a second attack occurs within a year. The frequency, severity, and number of joints involved is highly likely to increase
over time. This progression eventually leads to joint damage and chronic pain over an average of about 10 years.
4) Chronic tophaceous gout large crystal deposits, or tophi, produce irregular firm nodules, predominantly around the upper surfaces of the fingers and hands. They can form in other places as well, including forearms, achilles tendon, and/or the ears. When left untreated, these can lead to severe deformity.
HCFS, or High Fructose Corn Syrup, is lurking in almost every processed food imaginable. According to Dr. Hyon Choi and colleagues from Boston University, drinking high fructose syrup laden beverages increases uric acid levels in the blood, which eventually deposits into the joints where it causes gout.
How Can We Avoid HFCS (high fructose corn syrup)?
The first food to go has to be the soft drinks; this includes fruit punch, fruit cocktails, and Kool-Aid since they are all laden with HFCS.
Second, eat more meals at home. Restaurant foods are mostly prepackaged foods reheated and served to you. Use of HFCS in these foods is wide spread because of their increased shelf life.
While shopping, read the labels, if HFCS, fructose, or modified corn starch appears within the first five ingredients place it back on the shelf and move on. Sounds easy right? Wrong. As you make your way through the store you will begin to realize just how much of what you have been eating on a daily basis contains HFCS. Reducing HFCS will not always be easy, but the health benefits are well worth it. You will feel stronger and more vital, it will lift your mood and give you increased concentration. Limiting your intake of HFCS will not only shrink your midsection, but also do wonders for your over all health.
